In the latest press release from the American Soybean Association (ASA), it was announced that Christy Seyfert will join the senior leadership team at the DC soybean office. This decision was made as the ASA is just months away from its centennial anniversary. Seyfert, a DC veteran will be taking the position of Executive Director of Government Affairs, she will be working closely with soybean leaders from across the country to take part in implementing policy strategy.
Ryan Findlay, CEO of the ASA stated, “Christy brings with her not only an outstanding record of policy experience, but also a personality that we feel is the perfect fit for ASA’s growing DC team. She is a sharp, dedicated, and affable individual who we know is enthusiastic about and fully capable of taking on this integral new role.” As the DC team continues to expand, soybean farmers may see more good news on the horizon with additional support advocating on their behalf.
With a diverse background in both the private sector as well as with members of congress, Seyfert, has held a number of positions supporting agriculture, risk management, financial services, among others. Her career in government affairs began by representing agriculture on the Hill and working with the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee. Her roots are in Georgia, where she graduated with a B.S. in Agriculture, Food Science from the University of Georgia.
