The ASA has brought back the #FacesofTariffs hashtag to their social media accounts as part of their advocacy plans regarding the anniversary of retaliatory tariffs placed on U.S. soybeans. This campaign highlights the challenges that soybean farmers have faced as a result of the ongoing U.S. – China trade war. Their goal is to draw awareness to the hardships that soybean farmers have faced in the last year since the tariffs were put in place.
Using the hashtag #FacesofTariffs the ASA has been sharing the stories of soybean growers across the country on both Facebook and Twitter. Any farmer can get involved by submitting a farm photo and a comment detailing how the tariffs have impacted their farming operations. The ASA is dedicated to giving farmers a voice and a platform to share their stories and generate awareness so that people outside of the soybean and farming community better understand the effect that the tariffs have taken.
